Bruins Caught In Hurricane

The Boston Bruins lost game 2 of their 7 game series with the Carolina Hurricanes tonight. The series now stands at an even 1-1 series tie. The Bruins were shut out by the STELLAR play of 'canes goalie Cam Ward. Despite multiple chances for the Bruins, Ward made save after save to keep the B's off the Board. Carolina takes the game 3-0, though many will say the rightful score was 4-0 with a very contriversial non-goal call in the second period.

The Bruins seemed to lack their physicality tonight. Notably absent was Chara, who kept top 'canes scorer Eric Staal off the board in game 1. Staal eluded Chara all night and came away with a goal and an assist. Also woeful for the Bruins was their powerplay, allowing a shorthanded goal and not coming through with a 5-4 goal. The series leaves Boston and continues Wednesday night in Carolina. Hopefully the Bruins will be able to bounce back from thier first loss of the post season.

On a side note, so far this post season the best beard award belong to Big Z, Zdeno Chara. Already a fearsome looking defenseman, the beard just adds to his wildman look on the ice. Awesome Z!

Bruins Begin Round 2 with Win

The Bruins began round two in excellent fashion with a 4-1 win over their opponent the Carolina Hurricanes. After finishing out round one with a sweep of hated rivals the Montreal Habs, the Bruins showed no ill effects from the long lay off between the first and second round.

Contributing for the B's were David Krejci, Marc Savard, Michael Ryder, and of course, Timmy Thomas. Thomas has continued to show throughout the playoffs why he is a Vezina Trophy finalist. Also coming up with a big game was Patrice Bergeron. Bergy won over 58% of his facoffs and played his usual strong two-way game.

Up next for the B's is game 2 at the Garden. Also exciting is the fact that Garden roomates Bruins and Celtics will both be competing in round 2 of thier respective playoffs!
