Unfortunately, due to previous commitment and the incredibly frustrating VS-Directv spat, I was double thwarted from seeing to game. So instead I watched the box score as the Cap's ratcheted up their goals. So the bad news, the B's lose 4-1. The good, Bergy scored the first goal of the '09-'10 season. Good for Bergy to start strong!
The B's kick off their NESN schedule Saturday vs the 'Canes. Finally a game on TV.

Hibernation Is Over!
Alright, so I didn't have the heart to report on the disappointing outcome of last season. After a fantastic first place finish in the East, losing in an overtime heart breaker in game 7 was certainly a spirit killer. But that's all over and done with...Because tonight is the start of a new season!
The B's have a new look this year. Most noticeable is the departure of rumored-to-be disgruntled scoring phenom Phil Kessel. Also gone is back-up back stop (yes, a baseball ref I suppose) Manny Fernandez, replaced by last year's Baby B's outstanding goalie Tuukka Rask. Also missing Stephan Yelle, Shane Hnidy, and Steve Montador. Replacing them are Steve Begin, and Derek Morris. Also Marco Sturm, injured for a majority of last season, is healthy and ready to go.
When the B's take the Garden ice tonight vs. Ovie and the Caps, they will be facing much more than their opponents. Their biggest battle this season is perhaps contending with the sky high expectations of last year's outstanding season. Either way, to whichever outcome, the Boston Bruins are back at it tonight, looking to at last bring home the Cup.
